We just sat down to dinner
and we receive a call
There's a feral cat with kittens
behind a dumpster at the mall
So we grab some traps and cat food
we're gonna try to catch them all
If we don't trap and fix them
There’ll be thirty more this fall

For every one that's rescued
There's a hundred more out there
It pains me to believe
That they could end up this way
Abandoned by society
But, we are here to save the day
So we set up our equipment
And we wait and hope for the best
All our skill and training

In the cold and in the rain
To watch these unwanted animals
Causes me so much pain

We finally trap the kittens

In order to catch the mom
We’ll have to use the kittens as bait
They're all so undernourished

You’ll think this is a tale of woe
I'm here to say it isn't so
I was scared and hungry and all alone
Unable to find my way back home
I ended up at the local pound
My owners unable to be found
A local rescue showed up one day
And a nice foster mom took me away
Provided me the best of care
Loved and petted me everywhere
Had all the food I could ever want
The scary times no more did haunt
She Took me to adoption events
At first they seemed somewhat intense
She was trying to find my forever home
One that wouldn't leave me alone
A family wanted to come meet me
A perfect fit, well we shall see
They had two kids...a girl and a boy
Playing with them brought so much joy
The mom was sweet, the dad was great
I began to believe “this could be fate”
When all things were said and done
I knew their hearts I had won
My foster mom said it was time
For her and I to say goodbye
I will be sad, this much is true
But I must move on to make more room
For the perfect fit I have found
And there others at the pound
Who are waiting for their chance to live
In a home with lots of love to give
